A Jan Juc property listed with a $5.25 million to $5.75 million price guide has been sold.

“It is a new record by over $1 million,” Great Ocean Properties agent Marty Maher said.

It was listed last November by vendors who've been there since the mid 1980s.

The prior record in Jan Juc was $4.25 million for 8 Rip View Close last year.

The local paper, The Geelong Advertiser indicated the buyers were trading up locally.

The 4901 sqm property has a four-bedroom early 1990s-built house, that looks like it was inspired by sails.

A gate joins the Surf Coast Walk and a path that leads down to the water. It is also walking distance to shops and cafes.

The expansive property gives the option to add a swimming pool.
