Co-working organisation Hub Australia has recently acquired one of Sydney’s most sought-after commercial spaces, both levels 3 & 4 of Customs House. The new site will bring the national reach of Hub Australia to seven locations including Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane, spanning across an impressive 21,000 square metres.

Last year saw a staggering increase in shared working facilities across Australia, with more space being leased to co-working companies in 2018 than the previous three years combined.

“The demand for quality coworking space is not slowing down, especially in Sydney where office vacancy has hit 4.1 per cent which is the lowest level since 2000. In addition to Customs House, we’re actively looking for more sites in the Sydney market and our focus continues to be building a nationally engaged coworking community for growing businesses, while delivering a premium standard of amenity and design. We’re aiming to secure three or four new sites each year in unrivalled CBD locations and unique buildings.”

The new Hub Australia offices will feature 5 premium business suites, modern office spaces, and the flexibility to work from hot desks. As the availability of highly coveted property in Sydney's CBD struggles to cater to high demand, co-working organisations such as Hub Australia are able to obtain larger spaces to offer more businesses the ability to work from central locations.

“Customs House will provide an outstanding space for Hub Australia’s latest site. The buildings stunning heritage features will complement the Hub Australia ‘experience’ and provide its members with outstanding workspaces among some of the best amenity that a central CBD location like this provides.”

- Tom Buxton, Colliers, (Mr Buxton negotiated the lease for landlord, the City of Sydney)

Hub Customs House is expected to open on 1 August 2019.
