Queensland House Rules renovation couple Maddi and Lloyd Wright sold their Townsville home at weekend auction for $520,000.

The property at Pallarenda had three bedrooms.

It was sold through Keyes & Co Property Townsville after its renovation on the Channel 7 television show hosted by Johanna Griggs.

The 1950s home, within walking distance of the beach, sits on a 701 square metre block.

It sold to an interstate buyer who will rent it until their relocation.

They were the only registered buyer at the auction, according to News Ltd's local paper.

The couple who are moving north paid $372,000 for the four bedroom house in 2013 when it came with significant issues including rot, mould and uneven floors.

The marketing of the house at 59 Wackett Street, Pallarenda featured the couple prominently.

RP Data put the median house price at $450,000.
