HomeAway seeking out Fairfax Media's holiday accomodation website, Stayz

Fairfax Media has reportedly been approached by the US-listed HomeAway regarding its online holiday accomodation website, Stayz.

US-listed HomeAway is capitalised at $US2.7 billion. It has 575,000 holiday offerings with 19,500 within Australia.

The listed Australian travel website group Wotif has also been mooted as a buyer of Stayz.

Fairfax Media recently noted Stayz’s revenue grew 44% to $23 million in the 2012 financial year. It has about 30,000 holiday offerings across Australia.

JPMorgan has valued Stayz at $140 million. Fairfax bought the Stayz business in 2006 for $6 million.
