Glenfruin, an iconic Italianate style residence located within Launceston's city centre, has been relisted for sale.
It last sold for $3.25 million to buyers who relocated to the Apple Isle from Sydney.
Built on 1,482 sqm and set over three levels, Glenfruin at 1 Brisbane Street combines elegant original features with the demands of contemporary living.
Glenfruin has a floorplan of 458 sqm.
Glenfruin was designed by Launceston architect, Thomas Tandy, in the early 1900s for Launceston draper and clothier George Colville McKinlay.
It is mentioned in Eric Ratcliff's book A Far Microcosm: Building and Architecture in Van Diemen's Land and Tasmania.
It comes with four queen-sized bedrooms, gourmet kitchen with red marble bench living and dining rooms with expansive views, north-facing balcony, cellar and storage.

Its current vendor Bronwyn Shakespeare, who she had decided to sell the property so she could travel more to see her four adult children who live in different places around the world, has engaged estate agent Rodney Rawlings to sell it again.
