Historic Clonlara in East Clayfield sells for suburb record
Clonlara, the 100-year old East CLAYFIELD home that belonged to the late Sir Edward and Lady Dorothy Williams, has sold for a suburb record.
The Williams' called the Brisbane property home for six decades, until Sir Edward's death in 1999. Lady Dorothy died last year.
Ray White New Farm agents Christine Rudolph and Matt Lancashire sold the property for the family.
Clonlara, a six bedroom Federation home, was constructed in 1916 and was named after an Irish village in County Clare.
It sits in 3,3315 sqm of gardens which features two championship sized grass tennis courts.
Sir Edward was a former judge of the Supreme Court, as well as a former Australian of the Year. He also chaired the 1982 Commonwealth Games.
