Grant Harrod appointed LJ Hooker boss
Grant Harrod, the former chief executive at direct mail company Salmat, has been appointed head of the real estate network, LJ Hooker. He takes the place of Georg Chmiel.
He has signalled the evaluation and development of its online offerings as his major challenge.
LJ Hooker is a franchise network of more than 700 offices across the Asia-Pacific with more than 8000 employees.
Before Salmat, Harrod spent 13 years with business supplier Corporate Express Australia.
Greg Paramor, the chairman of LJ Hooker, announced the business services specialist yesterday.
Mr Harrod had been CEO and Managing Director of ASX-listed Salmat Pty Ltd (2009 to 2013) and CEO and Managing Director of Corporate Express Australia Ltd (2001 to late 2008).

Georg Chmiel remains a non-executive board member of LJ Hooker, the iconic Australian company which was founded in 1928.
