Following their recent move to Bundall, Gold Coast mayor Tom Tate and wife Ruth have listed their Paradise Waters home.

The Tate's paid a bullish $2.65 million for the five bedroom waterfront in 2011 after it sold for $4.2 million in 2006.

Set on a 1,206 sqm corner block on the prestigious Midshipman Court, the resort-style swimming pool and alfresco entertaining area are set amongst landscaped gardens.

There's a 40 metre water frontage with a large vessel mooring option, jetty, and a boat-ramp.

The property next door has been on the market for 93 days with no asking price revealed.

It's also a five bedroom, five bathroom waterfront complete with swimming pool, home office and gym.

The couple spent $3.3 million on Bundall's Sorrento in October last year, having wanted to move closer to the council's Evendale headquarters.

The '70s-style manor has four bedrooms and three bathrooms and sits on a large 4424 sqm block, also with water frontage.

It was once owned by the family of former Gold Coast mayor Sir Bruce Small.

Tom sold his Islander Resort business in Surfers Paradise for a reported $26.5 million.
