The former Wallabies coach Ewen McKenzie and his wife, Sally McKenzie, sold their Coogee penthouse last weekend for about $2.3 million.

The four bedroom, three bathroom apartment had been bought off the plan in 2010 for $2,825,000. Settlement after construction of the two level apartment came in early 2012.

It failed to sell at auction in October last year, languishing unsold for the past year.

Its recent price guidance had been $2.6 million plus.

The Coogee Bay Road apartment has 385-square-metre space in a block of eight, which technically sits in Randwick, but is marketed as Coogee.

Title Tattle gleans it sold for $2,291,000.
