Former Socceroo Tommy Oar, who wasn't selected in Bert van Marwijk's final 23 for the World Cup, has traded up in the Gold Coast.

Despite spending most of his time in Cyprus where he plays his club football, the midfielder has spent $1,225,000 on a Mermaid Beach home (above and below.)

The late 1960s home was marketed as having to potential to be a renovation or redevelopment project.

It has three bedrooms and one bathroom on its 405 sqm Sunbrite Avenue parcel (pictured below), just 200 metres from the beach.
