The former Federal treasurer Joe Hockey has an offer for his 90 hectare farm in the Atherton Tablelands.

He quietly listed the farm in April last year for $1.55 million, with the marketing by Elders agent Susan Bucknell suggesting the owners were looking for a quick sale.

It's taken over a year, and it is not the first time the listing has been under offer, so here's hoping the offer turns into a signed contract.

Spread over three titles in Malanda, the farm was bought by Hockey and his wife, investment banker Melissa Babbage for $625,000 in 2003.

Surrounded by established gardens, the estate comes with a renovated, two bedroom, single bathroom Queenslander.

The couple have an investment portfolio of four properties across Queensland, NSW and the ACT.

Last year Hockey sold off a seperate 41 hectare farm in Malinda for $600,000 which he bought for $520,000 in 2010. Their Forrest, Canberra bolthole recently fetched $1.151 million.

The Hockey's retain a house in Sydney’s Hunters Hill, which was bought for over $3.5 million more than a decade ago. They also own a six-bedroom house in the coastal village of Stanwell Park in Wollongong in NSW, which was purchased for $782,500 in 2002.
