Once Folia was launched to market, a staggering 50% of apartments were snapped up by property buyers within the first four months, giving the green light for construction to commence. Mirvac’s $79 million mixed-use precinct development, Tullamore, is proving to be a sales success, with the first phase of property, Phoenix apartments selling over 90%, and phase two apartments already on their way towards reaching completion by 2021.

Mirvac General Manager of Residential Victoria, Elysa Anderson explains that the sales success and popularity of the Tullamore development as a whole could be due to Mirvac’s response to buyer demand for high-quality homes, which places a focus on environmental sustainability.

“As a leader in sustainability for apartment living, Mirvac is pleased to partner with Allume Energy to deliver this important solar power initiative to Folia. We understand efficiency is more important than ever to home-owners, especially with electricity prices more than doubling in the past decade, and we are passionate about our contribution.”

The initiative has been supported by the University of Melbourne-affiliated Melbourne Accelerator Program, which saw the development of unique solar power distribution technology entitled, SOLSHARE.

SOLSHARE will allow Prestige and Penthouse apartment residents to share power from a singular solar unit and is the first of its kind, globally.

Mirvac will also be collaborating with Bunjil Energy to install and service solar panels within the Tullamore precinct.

“Bunjil Energy collaborates with not-for-profit organisations to provide opportunities for young indigenous people, and actively seeks to employ additional indigenous solar electrical apprentices.”

WHAT DOES FOLIA OFFER RESIDENTS?

Folia has been designed with the owner-occupier in mind, in order to create an active community feeling within the precinct. Mirvac have dedicated 20% of the Tullamore precinct to green open space, giving Folia residents the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and established amenity, including pocket parks and adventure playgrounds, undercover barbeque and picnic areas, as well as walking and cycling trails.

With developer credibility at the forefront of many buyer’s minds, Elysa Anderson explains that Mirvac’s customer-first approach is one of the key factors of the company’s continuing sales success.

“Our strong apartments pipeline in Victoria is the result of a holistic customer-first approach, in which community, flexible floorplans and amenities are key priorities. This in turn keeps Mirvac’s apartments business thriving… While the Victorian market has been impacted by tighter lending, we have seen a flight to quality and reputation, with purchasers increasingly focused on developer’s track records. At Mirvac, we continue to see our loyal purchaser base reinvesting in our developments.”
