A five bedroom Bar Beach house in Newcastle has been recently sold for $4.25 million. 

It was sold by Anthony Merlo from Dalton Partners in late December.

Set on a landscaped 460 square metre block, the house at 46 Bar Beach Avenue comes with opulent main bedroom on the third level with views.

There are four other bedrooms on the second level, open plan living area, theatre room, covered alfresco area and rear courtyard.

Other features include solar heated pool, gas heated spa, large gym, glass lift, and glass cellar plus bar area with 2 Vintec wine fridges. 

It had last sold at $800,000 in 2004. 

The suburb's median house price sits at $1.15 million, according to CoreLogic.
