Company director Eric Dodd and his wife Vanessa - the downsizing Mosman couple - have sold their Burran Ave home.

The chairman of First American Title Insurance has owned the hillside home since 1995 when it was bought for $961,000.

Set 100 metres up from Balmoral Beach, the home comes with an infinity pool.

It was listed for between $9 million and $9.9 million through Belle Property agent Tim Foote, but seemingly sold for $8 million plus.

Known as 'The Rhino' for his intensity and drive, Eric has worked at NRMA, BUPA, IAG and AON.

The Dodds retain their Ingleside acreage retreat.
