English village put up for sale
A picturesque village that dates back to the Domesday Book has been listed for sale. Askham Richard has been put up for sale by its landlord through Jasper Feilding, head of Carter Jonas's London country department.
It has been instructed to sell all of the farms and residential properties that make up the North Yorkshire estate, complete with shooting rights to its 324 hectares. It’s priced at £6.5 million.
It comes with two let farms, 22 hectares of woodland and 14 let residential properties with a current gross rental income of £155,000 a year, comprising £99,900 in residential rents and £51,800 in agricultural rents. The 324-hectare estate was built up in the late 19th century by Sir Andrew Fairbairn, a Liberal MP who died in 1901.
