Double Bay dentist David Penn buys Woollahra investment

The Double Bay dentist and medical appliance innovator David Penn, who is best known for his 2010 purchase of Villa Veneto in Point Piper, has secured an Woollahra investment.

It is a $1,855,000 three bedroom apartment on Trelawney Street in Manningham, a grand converted Victorian manor with just five apartments.

Ray White Double Bay agent Richard Carwin sold the home.

Penn and wife Linda, the Lowes Manhattan heiress, like to dabble usually with fixers uppers.

They set a then record Sydney when bought the five-storey Italianate harbour front villa Villa Veneto from recruitment entrepreneur Andrew Banks and his wife Andrea.

Late last year they opened up the harbourfront home for the inaugural Masquerade Ball for Children's Medical Research Institute, raising $700,000.
