The Sunshine Coast holiday home of the late businessman Donald Hay and wife Maribi has hit the market.

Queensland Sotheby's agent Paul Arthur is marketing the property in conjunction with Adrian Reed at Reed & Co.

Donald, who was the founder and executive chairman of manufacturing giant Hayco, dubbed the home Hayven, after they had architect Shane Thompson design the sprawling home over two decades ago.

The design is based on traditional large Queensland homesteads while taking advantage of its water position.

Set on a 2,975 square metre waterfront parcel on The Anchorage, Hayven has 13 bedrooms, including eight in the guest wing, 12 bathrooms, a media room, steam room and onsite caretaker quarters.

It even features a nightclub.

In the grounds is a 25 metre swimming pool, championship tennis court and by the water are two jetties.
