Cyber security boss Mark Dowd and wife Olivia Ross have emerged as the $9.75 million buyers of the Darnley Hall penthouse in Elizabeth Bay.

It came with a rebuild by designer Tonka Andjelkovic commissioned by the former owners, Paul Longmuir and his wife Elaine Kwan, who bought it for $8.1 million in 2010.

They briefly listed the apartment three years ago but failed to find a buyer at $10 million.

Local agent Jason Boon secured the sale, having listed it with $11 million hopes.

The 415 square metre apartment spans two levels atop the 1920s Onslow Avenue block.
