It was 2002 when crooner Billy Field sold his Paradise recording studio at Woolloomooloo for $1.15 million.

It was where recording artists including Richard Clapton, INXS, Air Supply, Icehouse, Men At Work, Dragon, Midnight Oil and The Divinyls recorded their hit songs.

It has long been without its studio, with the 450-square-metre, double-storey space being a commercial warehouse residence with office.

In 2002 the four-bedroom, three-bathroom space was sold for $1.15 million to businessman David Peters, whose wife Malinda Rutter had envisaged she might run her former children's talent agency Polka Dotts from the Judge Street premises.

It sold again for $1.7 million in 2007.

About $2.7 million was sought when initially listed last September through Belle Property Randwick agent Rick Nolasco, but more recently listed through BresicWhitney Estate Agents Darlinghurst.
