Friday Hut Estate, the Byron Bay hinterland retreat, has been listed for sale by the family of Michelle Tredenick, board member of Cricket Australia.

The family paid $2.93 million for the 1.6 hectare property in 2014.

The contemporary 2005 built home, created with timber, marble and aluminium, has five bedrooms, a separate two bedroom cottage, one bedroom studio and an 18 metre infinity edge freshwater swimming pool.

Bangalow Real Estate agent Gary Brazenor is marketing the home.

Tredenick, currently at Insurance Australia Group, joined the CA board in 2015 and has held senior positions at Bank of Queensland, NAB, MLC and Suncorp.

Located on a hilltop with a North-East aspect, the architecturally designed, contemporary main residence sits among 100 year old fig trees.

Selling agent, Gary Brazenor says Friday Hut Estate offers a real sense of peace and privacy.

The estate also includes a charming two bed cottage.

"When we bought the property, I didn’t fully appreciate just how convenient the location is. We are close to town but feel complete peace and privacy at the same time," said Tredenick.

"It’s the perfect combination.

"We have loved the quality of the build and the attention to detail which makes our home so comfortable, such as the under-floor heating in winter.

"When friends and family come to stay it is wonderful to have the accommodation and space to all enjoy our beautiful gardens, location and infinity pool overlooking the hinterland.

"We will be sad to sell."

This main residence was built in 200 by a local builder for his own family.
