Stand-up comedian Carl Barron has sold his remaining Potts Point apartment.

Barron offloaded his $5.5 million luxury 16th-level unit in the Rockwall Apartment complex two months ago, and he has now quietly sold his nearby investment apartment for $2.8 million.

It's been bought by the local Waples family, who live in nearby Elizabeth Bay.

It is in the Mirvac-built Ikon high-rise tower, which has been caught up in the combustible fire panel controversy.

He previously called the two-bedroom apartment home, having paid $1,825,000 in 2008.

It became a $1500-a-week rental in 2013, after he spent $4 million on the Rockwall apartment.

The no-frills funnyman, just back from a recent European tour that included Oslo, Antwerp and Amsterdam, may spend more time in the Southern Highlands, where he has an 8 hectare hideaway at Mount Murray, which cost $1,755,000 in 2017.

He once said that if he had more time, he’d take up birdwatching.
