Patrick Eltridge and wife Julie are selling their Clovelly masterpiece that featured on Grand Designs Australia.

The couple bought the old fibro cottage on the 600 sqm parcel on a whim back in 2005 for $1,635,000.

They didn't begin building until a few years later, then within six months the home was built, but not on site.

The home is designed in four modules by architect Pleysier Perkins and was built in Melbourne by Prebuilt.

The pods were trucked to Sydney in an oversized convoy and lifted into position to create the uber modern, two storey residence.

Clad in zinc and timber, the customised home has four bedrooms, a home office, suspended fireplace and a wine cellar.

An outdoor terrace and pool look out to the ocean.

The new home featured on Grand Designs in 2012 as Clovelly House.

Belle Property Bondi Junction agent Daniel Gillespie is marketing the home with a $6 million asking price.

He has set an August 12 auction.
