Chef Stefano Manfredi lists Luigi Rosselli-designed Way Way beach house
As he contemplates buying in the south of Italy, chef Stefano Manfredi has listed his custom-built NSW mid-north coast retreat.
It’s a corrugated iron-clad beach house designed by Luigi Rosselli at Way Way.
It comes with northerly views across the valley to the ocean at Scotts Head and up the coast to Nambucca Heads.
The home features four bedrooms as well as a separate studio.
The origins of Way Way House started around 20 years ago with friends who surfed.
Their brief to Rosselli was a holiday house for two families — one for Manfredi and the other for his then brand manager Sally Hunter.
Manfredi says it has been a holiday house, permanent residence, writing and creative retreat.
“The big sky view — and the sheer distance one can see — heightens the experience of the house at every turn,” Manfredi says.
“The view is a constantly changing picture.
“The house works well in all seasons, with doors and windows flung open in summer as well as warm and cosy during winter.
“It’s a house that’s the perfect place to entertain and be sociable as well as providing space for solitude and relaxation.”
There’s a chef-designed kitchen with concrete benchtops, plus a mezzanine level directly above, which Rosselli nominates as one of his favourite features of the house.
Manfredi is busy seeing the finishing touches being applied to his upcoming venture, Italian diner Pizzaperta at the grand Sydney Coliseum — a monolithic $100 million entertainment venue at Rooty Hill.
Marcus Lloyd-Jones of Modern House has advised that there is a $3.3 million asking price for the 3.3 hectare ridge-top holding.
