Channel Nine sports presenter James Bracey pulled the Cammeray home he shares with wife Margot and their golden retriever Ace from weekend auction.

Despite Ace doing his best to slow down renovations by ripping up the front garden a few years back, it will be a windfall for Bracey when he sells. He paid $950,000 in 2013.

The now contemporary Californian bungalow has two bedrooms, one bathroom and a courtyard set amid established gardens.

McGrath Neutral Bay agent Trevor Richardson, who had a $1.65 million price expectations, marketed the single level, 1920s home as having potential for a second storey.

It now comes with a $1.65 million asking price.

Bracey had been working at Sky News Australia since he was 19 years old before moving to Channel Nine late last year.

In 2013 he was appointed presenter of Sky News Australia new sports show SportsNight with James Bracey.

He now is the host of Channel Nine's rugby league telecasts on The Sunday Footy Show, as well as a fill-in sports presenter on Today, Weekend Today and Nine News.
