Former world champion rower turned builder Cy Pearson has quickly sold his Gold Coast home.

Pearson scored $5 million for the Amalfi Drive, Isle of Capri home, when it was snapped up by a Melbourne buyer for a street record in just five days.

He paid $1,325,000 in 2014 and commissioned Doug McDonald of HA Builders to create the home.

It is said to be inspired by the glamour and grace of globally recognised boutique hotels.

Designed by Jared Poole, the waterfront has four ensuite bedrooms, a media room and a home office.

The home is controlled by smarthouse automation and selling agent Michael Kollosche said it's one of the most unique and advanced Main River homes on Isle of Capri.

The hotel inspired living spaces comes with commercial grade glass panels and doors that open to the outside where there's an alfresco area with wet bar, BBQ cooktop and rangehood.

The entertaining area overlooks the resort style swimming pool with custom lighting in the 675 square metre landscaped grounds.

Taking advantage of the 17 metre water frontage is a pontoon and jetty.
