The Burradoo house price record is set to be broken with the latest listing of a palace-style trophy home.

It could be the first home to break the $6 million barrier in the Southern Highlands locality.

The 6,290 sqm Werrington Street estate last traded for $1.1 million in 2009 before a full scale renovation and extension saw another level added.

Now the home, marketed as an elegant country residence, has an asking price of $6.25 million through Drew Lindsay agent Karl Zabel.

The open plan living area, the centre-point of the home, features Egyptian limestone flooring and ornate antique fireplaces.

There are four bedrooms, including a master retreat with dressing room, ensuite and a garden-view balcony, accessed through timber French doors.

The wide wrap around verandahs and paved entertainment spaces and pergolas on the ground level all overlook the gas heated swimming pool.

The Burradoo record currently belongs to Burradoo House, the recently upgraded 1920's Burradoo residence which is aiming to take out consecutive records.

It last sold for $5.38 million in 2017 to the the tourism entrepreneur Rose Deo who is now seeking a buyer.
