Blues captain Boyd Cordner buys Randwick apartment

New South Wales Origin captain Boyd Cordner has settled on a new eastern suburbs home ahead of the upcoming series against Queensland.

Cordner, who is captaining the Origin side for the second consecutive year, has secured a $1.5 million apartment in Randwick.

The first training camp earlier last week at Coogee Oval would have been a short stroll along the beach from his former Coogee home.

It has become a $825 a week rental offering.

The Sydney Roosters second rower paid $865,000 in 2014.

The 70 sqm ground floor apartment has two bedrooms, one bathroom and a courtyard.

He's traded up to another garden courtyard in Randwick.

It is a two storey apartment in a low-rise complex of just eight, designed by architect Andre Barouch (above and below).

NG Farah Coogee agent Joe Recep sold Cordner the home post-auction.

The Taree-born NRL champion made his debut for the Roosters in 2011, recruited by the Chooks as a 16 year old.

He retains a $445,000 two bedroom apartment on the mid-coast at Wallabi Point.

The key player in the 2013 Premiership winning season, Cordner took over State of Origin captaincy from Sharks veteran Paul Gallen last year.
