Former Cronulla Sharks star Ben Barba has secured the $600,000 sale of his Caringbah South investment apartment.

It had hopes of between $620,000 and $660,000 when initially listed at the beginning of May with Century 21 Cronulla agent David Wolfhart.

The Darwin born flyer paid $425,000 for the 84 sqm apartment in 2012 when he was at the Bulldogs.

The sale comes just before the news that Barba failed to get his drugs ban overturned having moved to the English Super League.

He is now unlikely to play for St Helens until at least August. He joined from French rugby union club Toulan after he was dismissed by the Sharks.

It has two bedrooms and an updated kitchen and bathroom.

The listing came after he leased his own home, not far away at Caringbah South, for $1,000 a week.

Barba paid $1.18 million for his former home in Caringbah South in 2014 following his brief stint at the Broncos.

He still holds on to a four bedroom Everton Park investment just outside of Brisbane that cost $769,000 in 2013.
