Australia is set to have a new record terrace price with Prue MacLeod and her husband Alasdair securing an off market purchase of a four-storey Potts Point home.

The sale of the attached grand Victorian Italianate residence, Highclere was secured by father and son flippers, Roy and Anthony Medich, who had bought the 340 sqm holding for $12.5 million in November 2017 from John McNiven.

The Medich's retain James Packer’s Bondi Beach home which was bought for a coastal record of $29 million as the Medich HQ.

It is understood the deal was done December 21.

The reputed $14 million off-market deal tops the earlier $13 million terrace record set by a freestanding grand 1880s-built terrace just two doors away when it was sold in 2016 by Heidi Onisforou to the lawyer Karen Beck.

The acquisition by Prue MacLeod, the eldest daughter of Rupert Murdoch, and her husband Alasdair coincides with the Wentworth Courier reporting late last year of their hopes to quietly off-load their Queen Street, Woollahra, for about $15 million.

Prue and Alasdair MacLeod bought their Woollahra residence in 2014 for $10.65 million from former mining boss Nick Curtis and his wife Angela for $10.65 million.

The house was previously owned by radio broadcaster John Laws before he sold it to the Curtises in 2004 for $7.7 million.
