Art collector John Schaeffer has expanded his Wentworth Towers, Point Piper penthouse holding.

The 178 square metre apartment cost $3.3 million.

His initial 184 square metre apartment cost $4.03 million in 2009, after selling the eastern suburb trophy homes, Rona and Boomerang.

Schaeffer briefly listed it in 2012 through Michael Pallier at Sothebys.

His initial trophy apartment with north facing aspect had a makeover by designer Thomas Hamel.

Set atop the art deco Wentworth Towers, all rooms enjoyed the panoramas.
