The Mermaid Beach retreat of the former Australian cricket team vice-captain Shane Watson has been listed for auction this weekend.

The four-level villa at 14a Lavarack Rd was bough off the plan for $1.34 million in 2006.

The four bedroom Malibu on Lavarack duplex villa was constructed by boutique builder Daniel Veitch.

It has been listed through Chez Fraser of Harcourts Coastal who has issued more than a handful of contracts.

The north-facing 539 square metre property, which attracts weekly rentals between $900 and $950, comes with four-car basement garage.

The Queensland born Watson went to school at Ipswich Grammar.

Mermaid Beach's median house price sits at $870,000, according to RP Data.
