Ardoch Tower at Essendon has been listed by AFL great Greg ‘Diesel’ Williams and his wife Mary.

They paid a record $3.08 million when upgrading from nearby in 2004 for the now restored home on its 2453 square metre block opposite Essendon Football Club's Windy Hill headquarters.

It comes with a pool, spa, tennis court and an all-weather alfresco area with a pizza oven in resort-style grounds.

Greg Williams told The Australian earlier this year he was able to move freely again on the tennis court thanks to treatment by Melbourne biotech company Paradigm Biopharma who repurposed an old drug.

The tower in the house boasts 360-degree views across Melbourne.

The former Carlton, Sydney and Geelong star has $7 million expectations for the 1860s Italianate residence.

It features 4 metre high decorative ceilings painted by an artist who died on the Titanic, so the oft-told story suggests.
