De Burgh, along with its neighbouring buildings The Sullivan and Embark, is part of Northbourne Avenue's transformation into a vibrant boulevard in Canberra.

Part of JWLand’s focus for De Burgh was creating a sustainable and environmentally-friendly collection of residences at Northbourne Village.

De Burgh's focus on light and air is evident in the apartment layouts that prioritise natural sunlight.

The building comprises two structures, separated by a landscaped throughway that encourages pedestrian movement and maximises natural light to all apartments.

Passive solar design principles have been employed to optimise heat storage in winter and reduce heat transfer in summer, thereby reducing energy use. High efficiency reverse-cycle air conditioning, double-glazed windows, and appliances with high energy-star ratings are further initiatives to help keep energy bills under control.

Technology was another focus in the design of De Burgh. An App-controlled lighting and air conditioning system installed as standard allows residents to control their homes from their phones.

This feature allows residents to turn everything on and off remotely, making their homes brighter and more comfortable upon their arrival. The Smart Lock™ system (an optional upgrade) also lets residents unlock their doors with their phones, giving them control over who has digital keys to their homes and when they can use them.

The apartments also feature Fisher & Paykel appliances, including an induction cooktop, wall oven, multi-function dishwasher, and ducted range hood.

Honouring the heritage of the suburb with its name, De Burgh features a nine-storey frontage to Northbourne Avenue before stepping down to six-storeys on its namesake street, with the building’s landscaped public spaces enhancing its contemporary built form.

The development features a mix of floorplans, including studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments. There’s also a collection of two and three-bedroom, dual-level loft-style apartments.

Construction is due to commence in July this year, with completion slated for mid 2025.
