Philanthropists Arvid Petersen, chairman of Petersen Group and former NSW Rugby Union chairman, and wife Karen have listed their Palm Beach weekender.

The two level Sunrise Road homes comes with expectations of $4.8 million to $5.2 million through David Edwards and Danielle Forde at LH Hooker.

They are marketing its as a "low maintenance zinc clad architectural masterpiece, set east, north-east perched over the beach".

It was last traded in 1999 at $2.05 million.

Petersen spent many years with Pepsi Cola, coming to Australia from Canada in 1989 as its founding managing director.

He now leads an investment company focussing on private equity investments in education and hospitality.

It was listed five years ago with $5.2 million plus hopes.

Designed by architect Greg Crone, who sold it new, architect Tim Moon refurbished it substantially two years ago.

Sunrise Road's other listing is by Vicki Jones, the former Nine Network programming executive.

It was designed by Gerald Nettleton as his own holiday home before he sold it to Jones for $1,326,000 in 1997.

Set on 815 square metres, the three bedroom home with solid timber beams has full length decks on both levels, one featuring an in-ground spa.
