The departing Gold Coast politician Steve Ciobo, the Liberal Party Gold Coast member, and wife Astra, have very quietly sold their Gold Coast home.

The couple's Surfers Paradise property fetched $3.02 million, well up from the $2.06 million paid in 2015.

The Mediterranean inspired entertainer on a 1,185 square metre Isle of Capri parcel fronts the Main River.

There's no sign of buying back, but the Ciobo's retain a Hope Island apartment.

When asked, his office advised Ciobo doesn't wish to comment.

"He is staying living in the electorate," they assured.

Ciobo served as the minister for trade, tourism and investment in the Turnbull Government from February 2016 until August 2018 in the wake of the Liberal Party leadership spill. He was then Minister for Defence Industry until March 2019.

The house was architecturally designed in 2001 for a large family and has six bedrooms, four bathrooms and an open study across its 675 square metre living space.

A Balinese thatched barbecue pavilion overlooking the sheltered swimming pool sit in the grounds.
