Aqualand shortlisted for Waterloo metro quarter development

Aqualand has been shortlisted for the next phase of the NSW State Government’s Waterloo Metro Quarter Development.

They are now in the request for tender stage.

Aqualand’s team includes CPB Contractors and community housing partner, City West Housing.

John Carfi, Chief Executive Officer of Aqualand said, “The Waterloo Metro Development Quarter will be a key catalyst for change and will set the highest possible standard for successful urban renewal”.

The Waterloo Metro Quarter will be integrated with the new Waterloo Station and will deliver new homes, shops, community services and a new public plaza.

Aqualand shortlisted for Waterloo metro quarter development

Located 700m from Redfern Station and 880m to Green Square Station The proposed development will comprise approximately 700 new homes above and adjacent to the new Waterloo Station.

The Waterloo Metro Quarter will deliver up to 10% affordable housing and 70 social housing dwellings as part of the new community.

Waterloo Metro Quarter will feature approximately 4000 sqm of locally focused retail and approximately 9000 sqm of commercial space, shared offices and health services.

It is due to open to the public in 2024.

The design team for the project includes Architects Tzannes, Turner, Silvester Fuller, GHD and Oculus.
