Forget weddings, Sunrise news presenter Natalie Barr and her husband, television commercial editor Andrew Thompson, have had their mind on selling their Mosman home.

The 1910s Federation home, renovated during their short ownership, was snapped up yesterday, the day before today's scheduled auction.

With four bedrooms, they'd hoped for an ambitious $3.8 million for the home which comes with his and hers home offices.

The home which cost them $3,235,000 two years ago, sold for an undisclosed price, but they are likely to have accepted somewhere in-between.

They were upsizing in 2016 from their nearby long-time prior Mosman residence on which they did much better - buying for $1.28 million in 2002 and sold for $2,891,999.

They are tipped to move east to be closer to school for their sons.

Barr has been at Seven for over two decades, having joined Seven News as a reporter in 1994.

She's been the news presenter on Sunrise since 2003.

Her rival over at Nine has been active recently on the property front buying at Beauty Point with her husband Tim Baker for possibly close to $6 million.

They sold their Federation bungalow in Artarmon for $4.2 million.
