A historic shopfront Rozelle residence that featured in the film Ladies In Black was pulled from its onsite weekend auction.

Dating from the 1890s, the Evans Street property has been redesigned to be a three-level home with five bedrooms, five bathrooms and a rooftop terrace.

The home had $3.4 million hopes but with just one registered bidder, McGrath chief auctioneer Scott Kennedy-Green didn’t hang around.

The gathering of 20 stickybeaks dispersed with a subsequent sale at an undisclosed price.

It last traded for $2.4 million in 2012. Its facade has its milk bar windows etched with ads for Foley’s Butter and Kinkara Tea.

The film, set in the summer of 1959, starred Alison McGirr, Rachael Taylor and Angourie Rice.
