Mehajer family's Canada Bay property re-listed for auction

A dress circle Canada Bay property associated with the family of the jailed bankrupted property developer Salim Mehajer has been re-listed for spring auction.

The rundown 1970s home was pulled from its autumn auction, but goes to November 24 auction.

This time around CIA Real Estate Auburn agent Joe Salah said the creditors need to get paid and couldn't wait any longer. 

"They want the property sold," Salah said.

"The vendor must sell."

The April auction agent advised they had an offer, but it wouldn't be accepted.

Mehajer paid $1.4 million for the 470 square metre property in 2015 with plans to knock down the brick veneer and tile home and replace it with a striking three storey home.

It has three bedrooms and a separate living and dining area.

It will be the third sale for the property loving Mehajer family this year.

In May, Salah sold their Auburn shop, which had a butchers, for $2,175,000.

The Mehajer's had paid $801,000 in 2011.

The most recent sale was of the Lidcombe development site which fetched $1,635,000.

The property, containing two duplex shells, was sold under instructions.

The auction had been postponed a week after legalities arose between the family and their financiers.

Totalling 10 bedrooms over four levels, the Mons Street site had last traded for $682,000 in 2011.

Devine Real Estate Strathfield agents Steven Devine marketed the property as “must be sold”.

Salim Mehajer’s own Lidcombe home, the opulent six bedroom mansion with 56 security cameras, is two minutes away.
