Art dealer Evan Hughes, son of the late renowned art collector Ray Hughes, has listed the Paddington home he shares with his entertainment lawyer wife Kate Hughes.

They plan to upsize locally.

Modernised since paying $1.55 million in 2015, the 1920s Sutherland Street terrace has three bedrooms and one bathroom.

He was upsizing at the time, selling his nearby Mary Place terrace to creative director Seamus Dinnigan.

The Sutherland Street home sits on 215 square metres with a rare long rear lawn.

The November 3 auction comes with $2.1 million hopes.

Hughes endeavoured to move into politics in 2016 when he ran against Malcolm Turnbull for the seat of Wentworth.

He recently inherited his late father's Blue Mountains cottage in Blackheath.
