The Melbourne home of jockey James Winks and wife Laura went under offer before its recent scheduled auction.

The ABERFELDIE California bungalow, north-west of Melbourne, cost the couple $1,205,000 in 2010. They renovated the kitchen and both bathrooms.

The four bedroom home with solar heated swimming pool had become to small for their growing family. They have three kids.

It came with a guide of $1.8 million to $1.98 million through Nelson Alexander agent Andrew Johnston.

They're set to stay in the area. Winks says it convenient, being a short walk to Flemington Racecourse and not far from Moonee Valley Racecourse.
