Country music star Troy Cassar-Daley and his 4KQ Brisbane radio presenter wife Laurel Edwards are selling their Queensland farming getaway.

Cassar-Daley, who was born in Sydney's Surry Hills in 1969, but moved to Grafton when he was young, loved his fishing on the Vernor property which fronts the Brisbane River an hour west of the Brisbane.

Edwards would ride horses across the four hectare estate.

There's been many a music jam with friends and family on the verandah that overlooks the scenic river.

LJ Hooker Ipswich agent Jo James is marketing the home with a negotiable $680,000 guide.

Cassar-Daley, who still calls himself a north-coaster, has recently taken time off from writing songs to travel with Laurel to France to celebrate their 22nd year wedding anniversary.
He'll be back for the Gympie Music Muster in August. Then its on to a seven day country cruising ship with John Williamson, Gina Jeffreys, Tania Kernaghan and Chad Morgan that leaves Sydney in early October.

Brisbane 4KQ's Laurel Edwards was honoured last year for 25 years of radio service.

She is the host of the Laurel, Gary & Mark show which in the most recent ratings was equal number one AM breakfast show.

The couple, who paid $630,000 in 2007 for the property, are reluctantly selling now their kids, Clay and Jem, are all but grown up.

Clay turned 20 earlier this week and he's followed in his mother's footsteps, presenting on 98.8FM, a country radio station, alongside famed comedian Jamie Dunn, aka as Agro the puppet.

A charming two-level, four bedroom family home is surrounded by mature trees and established gardens.

The property is divided in to two fully fenced main paddocks, with machinery, stables, cattle yards and a veggie garden.

The couple, who wed in 1996 when Cassar-Daley was sporting a then fashionable mullet, have been based at Brisbane's Balmoral for over two decades, upgrading homes in 2004 when they spent $2 million on a 1930s home with a swimming pool looking out to the city.

He was 11 when he first went to the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

His big break came when he replaced James Blundell as the lead singer of country music band, The Blue Heeler Band.

The first single "Dream Out Loud" was released in 1994 by Sony Music and reached number-one on the Australian country music charts.

Cassar-Daley won the 1995 ARIA Award for Best Country Record.

He's gone on to win a further three ARIA Awards and 36 Golden Guitars in a career spanning over 30 years and 10 studio albums.
