Adman David Nobay buys in Byron Bay

Adman David Nobay, the founder of the Sydney brand of global creative agency Droga5, has bought in Byron Bay with his wife Nicole.

The Paddington-based couple have spent $1 million on a newly renovated home near the Roadhouse Cafe not far from the town.

Last traded for $468,500 in 2012, the home has three bedrooms, one bathroom.

First National Byron Bay agents Tara Tokkola and Luke Elwin were asking for offers between $920,000 to $1.01 million.

The UK-born Nobay worked in London, San Francisco and Hong Kong before launching his own agency, Wells Nobay McDowall, in Melbourne at just 27.

He later moved to New York then launched Droga5 in Sydney in 2008. It was named agency of the year in 2009 by B&T Magazine.

In 2016 he became the founding creative chairman of Marcel Australia.
