Sam Burgess lists on Bondi Beach dress circle

South Sydney Rabbitoh star Sam Burgess has listed his redundant Bondi Beach investment apartment with $2.7 million hopes.

The Bunnies leading man bought off the plan in 2012, spending $2,065,000 on the Bondi Pacific apartment some three years before its completion.

It was secured during his first stint at the Rabbitohs before he moved briefly back to England to play rugby union.

Upon his 2016 return, Burgess and wife Phoebe Hooke moved into the Campbell Parade apartment, but after a short stay, decided for a change of coastal lifestyle.

They relocated to a $3.8 million four bedroom family home with swimming pool in Maroubra.

The two bedroom, second floor Pacific Bondi unit was then leased. It was offered for $2,500 a week furnished or $1,950 a week unfurnished.

Burgess was quick to tweet the listing to his 230,000 followers, suggesting it is a "great spot to live" and he "hopes somebody enjoys it as much as we did."

It's now listed for sale through NG Farah Coogee estate agent Beau Champion for an April 16 auction.

It's another NRL listing from a former team mate.

Champion ought have an easy task in the current Bondi Beach market with Burgess' dress circle apartment featuring a prized large outdoor entertaining area with its own lawn.

Bondi's summer selling season was hot with sales including a one-bedroom Notts Avenue apartment at $2.86 million. There had been a $2.5 million guide for the 62 sqm unit.

Away from the beach, a 140 sqm two-bedroom Boheme, Hall Street apartment fetched $3.51 million, having sold in 2014 at $2.15 million.

Champion is also marketing the Chifley home of another former team mate, Sam's brother George Burgess.

He's asking for offers between $1,725,000 and $1,775,000 for the modern four bedroom home.

Burgess and wife, Joanna, who has studied interior design, welcomed their first child, Boston, last April and are now expecting their second child due in August.

George Burgess, who has been at the Rabbitoh's since 2012 and was a key figure in the 2014 grand final win, bought the house in 2015.

His then neighbour was former team mate Tim Grant.

George Burgess's property acquisitions included the 2016 off the plan buy of a garden apartment in Randwick's Epoque boutique development.

Burgess paid about $2 million for the MHNDU-designed three bedroom apartment in the block of eight.
