Recently retired Newcastle Knight Anthony Tupou and wife Kimberley Bazley have bought a home just outside of Newcastle.

They've spent $1.3 million on an original 1970s brick and tile home on the border of Nesca Park.

Set on 620 square metres, the three bedroom home has a split level lounge and dining domain and a lower level rumpus.

A rear verandah overlooks the saltwater swimming pool.

Robinson Property The Junction agent Michael Flook sold the home after having $1.35 million to $1.45 million hopes.

Last year Tupou sold his Maroubra investment at auction for $965,000 through NG Farah.

The 1970s Beach Court apartment cost Tupou $491,000 in 2005 shortly after he joined the Sydney Roosters.

Tupou made his Roosters debut in 2004, then joining the Sharks in 2009 having played 111 games for the Roosters. He played 125 games for Cronulla in seven seasons.

Over the years he made 11 Test appearances for the Kangaroo's and played four State of Origin games for New South Wales.
