Bondi and Bronte are hot markets for houses, from colonial to contemporary. 
 
James Kennard, from the Kennards Self Storage family, has snappily sold his Yanko Ave, Bronte, beach house (above) which cost $5,325,000 in 2015.
 
BresicWhitney agent Nic Krasnostein said only that it set a street record, which would mean $6.3 million-plus. 
 
Kennard recently spent $4.15 million near Byron Bay.
 
IT consultant Bill Shires, the former Tamarama SLSC president, and his wife Judy have listed their colonial 1880s Bondi home, Barroda (below). It has a $3.8 million price guide through McGrath. 
 
There is a $3.8 million price guide through Simon Exelton at McGrath.

He describes it as a grand colonial estate occupying an elevated 626sqm corner block with views over Bondi.

"This rare offering has been in only two families over the past 100 years," he said.

The Shires bought its from the Norburn family in 2008 for $2,065,000.
