Senator elect Kristina Keneally, the former NSW premier-turned television host, and husband, Ben Keneally have quietly offloaded the family's Wollstonecraft investment townhouse.

The three bedroom Wollstonecraft townhouse had a price guide of $1.55 million plus before its recent sale.

There will be a tiny profit for the couple who recently settled on a $1,875,000 four bedroom waterfront on Scotland Island.

They had been renting in Hunters Hill.

The couple paid $1,383,000 for the Wollstonecraft investment in 2015 following the sale of their $2.27 million Pagewood family home.

Upon their 2015 purchase of the River Road townhouse became a $1,000 a week rental.

It was offered recently as a $1,050 a week rental.

Kenally's plans for a Canberra home are yet to emerge.

She had been thinking of moving to Canberra to present a daily Sky News program from Parliament House but these plans changed after the announcement she would replace Sam Dastyari in the Senate.

Keneally has told Labor officials that she will make stillbirth research funding and constitutional recognition for indigenous Australians a personal mission during her time in the Senate.
