A Dromana boatshed on the Mornington Peninsula has sold for $590,000.

It marked shed 179’s first sale in 26 years.

The vendor included all the property’s contents, the fishing boats, kayaks and boating equipment.

Hocking Stuart Rosebud and Dromana selling agent Steve Edmund said at 15x10m, the boat shed No. 179 was about four times the size of the average beach box.

It housed the Dromana Boat Hire business for decades, run by Paul Donnelly.

The buyers, a local family, would continue to run the bayside business, Edmund told The Herald Sun.

The buyers are considering adding a coffee nook to the property.

The shed first hit the market mid-year with another selling agency with a $600,000-$650,000 price guide.

The business had opened about 10 years prior to the last sale 26 years ago.

Only Mornington Peninsula Shire residents and ratepayers were eligible to buy the shed.
