Glassyn, a Cross Street, Mosman trophy home has fetched possibly close to a $16 million sale.

Settlement figures will show the Federation residence sold for one of the suburb's priciest homes off the harbour.

The non-waterfront record has stood since 2012 when BridgeLane Group's Markus Kahlbetzer paid $18 million for his Mandolong Road home.

Brendan McAssey, the childcare entrepreneur, bought the Alex Popov-designed house next door last year for $17.3 million.

McGrath Mosman agents Michael Coombs and John Melville sold the Glassyn which last traded for $11 million in 2006.

It has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and sits on a 2040 sqm parcel amid park-like gardens which feature level lawns and a swimming pool.

A wrap around verandah and alfresco spaces offer views out to the water.

The living areas feature two studies, a library and a billiard room. There's also a large wine cellar.

Glasslyn was the non-waterfront home of Nanuk Asset Management director Paul Chadwick and his wife Giselle who had tried to sell this time last year, initially with hopes of between $16 million to $17.5 million.

Meanwhile there are $6 million to $6.5 million hopes held by blogger Angela Galloway for her 1899 Federation home.

Richard Simeon of Simeon Manners will take the property to auction on December 2.
