ABC news presenter Juanita Phillips and partner, retired Labor government minister Greg Combet, are selling their Lower North Shore home.

She has transformed the 1910s Federation cottage into a charming freestanding home since Phillips paid $1.71 million in 2015.

Combet's name was put on the title last year.

Updated with fresh contemporary interiors, the home has three bedrooms, a home office and one bathroom.

A partially covered alfresco entertaining deck overlooks the manicured gardens which feature a self-contained studio.

McGrath agents Piers van Hamburg and Nicole Grady-Combes have set a November 25 auction date.

The Brisbane born Phillips began her career as a journalist at The Courtier-Mail where she became a feature writer and columnist.

She made her national debut on screen as a regular presenter on Ten Eyewtiness News weekend late edition in 1993.

Phillips moved to Sydney in 1994 to join Ron Wilson on Ten News First at Five, succeeding Sandra Sully.

She moved to London in the late 90s where she worked as a news presenter at BBC World News, while at the same time running a cafe.

In 2003 she moved to co-anchor ABC News NSW with Tony Eastley and later became solo presenter of the bulletin.

She had been with Combet since 2012.

Combet owns a Cremorne penthouse that he paid $1.84 million for in 2015.

It came with 184 square metres of indoor/outdoor living occupying the top floor in a boutique art deco block.

The former trade union boss is the son of a winemaker at Penfolds at the Minchinbury Estate.

He came up to New South Wales from Melbourne after 14 years at the ACTU and was the member for the Charlton electorate.
